After a series of cameo appearances in songs from Tamil films, Prabhu Deva was given his first lead role by director Pavithran in the romantic drama film Indhu (1994). Appearing alongside actress Roja and Sarathkumar, Deva's ability to dance was fully utilised in the song sequences, with gaana and disco music thereafter being regularly featured in his films. He made his breakthrough as an actor with Shankar's sophomore film, the romantic drama Kadhalan (1994), where he portrayed a young student who first stands up against his lover's father and then an international terrorist.[9] The film was highly lauded for its technical prowess and went on to win four National Film Awards, while A. R. Rahman's songs and Deva's choreography, especially in the songs "Mukkabla" and "Urvasi Urvasi", became very popular across India.[12] Despite starring relative newcomers, the film went on to become the highest grossing Tamil film of 1994 and the commercial success made Deva a bankable actor.[13] The film also saw success through its dubbed Telugu and Hindi versions, creating a market for Deva in other Indian regional industries.
The year 1995 also saw another face of Mano as the voice-over dubbing artist in the Telugu film industry. He dubbed his voice for almost all Rajinikanth starrers in Telugu. His voice became almost synonymous with Rajinikanth and was in great demand by all the directors and producers.[4] He also dubbed his voice for Kamal Haasan in some movies in Telugu.[4]
Telugu Movie Muqabla Love Dubbed In Hindi
Rangeela: TamilRojaGentlemanThiruda ThirudaVandi solai chinraasuUzhavanKeezhakku cheemayileDuetPudhiya MugamBombayIndiraMazhaiPudhiya MannargalKadhalanKaruthammaPavithra: Dubbedin Hindi -- Roja as Roja Bombay as Bombay Kadhalan as Humse hai Muqabla I heard about somebody planning to release Thiruda Thiruda as Chor Chor (heard this just when Roja became a hit in Hindi too) Indira as Indira (recently heard this)in Telugu -- Roja as Roja Thiruda Thiruda as Donga Donga Bombay as Bombay Gentleman as Gentleman I heard that both the following movies got dubbed also and were released in Telugu too. Pudhiya Mugam Keezhakku Cheemayile but do not recall the names in Telugu Also a word of warning , almost all succesful movies down South get dubbed into each others languages so that more ppl can enjoy it. However this is an off the cuff remark. Please do not hold me responsible for this being false. My point is that more of the Tamil movies May have been dubbed in Telugu too.in Tamil -- Super Police (telugu) as Super Police: Telugu Gang Master Super Police.: Exactly, I might have forgotten some of the movies. Somebody who knows May please correct me or add to the list here.Btw, imHo, all the cassettes of ARR are worth their money except for Mazhai.I really couldn't beleive that he could have composed this stale stuff. Itsounds exactly like any other average( and by average I *mean* average)Tamil movie songs. No trademark ARR stuff in this movie, acc. to me.Indira has a delightful piece similar in spirit (imHo) to the piece SalilChaudhry put in Madhumati ... y'know the folk song type one "Rut matwaari Jhoome daari daari , jane jag saara, jaane na maali" . Note, I used the word similar in *spirit*. It, imHo, is not a copy at all. The length of the song is roughly the same (i.e. short ) and like the Madhumati one the song speeds up in the end. Btw, the Tamil (tamizh) wordings are transliterated on my cassette as "Munnera Dhan" , sung by Maharasan and Swarnalatha plus ARR's usually delightful use of chorus. Btw, I also felt some Bihu like tune in the recesses of the mind when the ARR song speeds up. I could almost imagine, the girls dancing to the tune. Later, Ikram.daari: Again thanks for you time,
Add "May Madham" and "Pudhiya Mannargal" to the tamil list.and "Asokan". I am not sure if this is a tamil movie or a malayalam one..It has been dubbed in Telugu.. (forgot the name..), stars MohanLal and Madhubala.. Got released pretty soon after Roja..
"Indira" is indeed being dubbed in Hindi as "Indira". Heardthe music rights have been sold for a crore and half and the movieitself has been sold for a very good price.. (solely based onRahman/Maniratnam name tag, I guess...)
> Pudhiya Mugam as Padma Vyooham...Indira as IndiraDuet as ??Asokan as ??Kadhalan as Premikudu> Keezhakku CheemayileThis has been remade (and not dubbed) as "Palnati Paurusham".It has got all the "Kizhakku" songs plus "Muthu Papa" fromPudhiya Mugham and is Rehman's first direct telugu movie..
I don't know much about this movie. I saw the telugu version..Has very few songs (one or two..) The background music was pretty good. The movie is a takeoff on "The GoldenChild", I was told. The movie was pretty well made though..From the cast, it seemed like a malayalam movie.I am cross-posting this to SCT, hoping some one else can throw some light on this movie..> [ stuff about Rehman being the MD for Mazhai deleted] ..>great news that!! My ears did NOT beleive it to be an ARR at all. I normally>do place some faith in my ears but this time my eyes were the ones which>were giving me "dhoka". the cover of the cassette that I have clearly>mentions ARR as the director. Plus on the front it even has the trademark>Rahman mug shot ( :) :) ) [ No wonder he got it changed for Rangeela!!The backcover (or is it the inside one ) of Sathileelavathi/MazhaiCD has Rehman (and Rajinikant)'s pics prominently and there was somethingwritten in tamil, right under it.. DOn't know what.. Can't read tamil..Again, can some one throw some diffuse light on this one?
"Mawali Raj"! never heard of it! Dubbed with Bappi recording over ARR's stuff? Were the songs redone? (in this case the movie can't be a dubbed one! )Did Bappi just add some jhankar beats ? :-)Who are the actors? May be that will give an idea about the original..
I remember that the actors were Venkatesh (Yup the D Rama Naidu's son or did I name the wrong film dir/prod :) ? ) And it has one song that had the word Bombay in it. Shot in the night with Venky dancing with some extras. The dubbed Hindi song was sung by Suresh Wadkar and was badly done. Really not ARR stuff at all , imHo. And Venky was wearing something similar to the Michael jackson thriller outfit.Plus his ubiquitous hat!! Why, oh why, does he have to wear a hat in almost all of his song picturizations. And Dev, the other day I was wondering about why Hariharan was considered to be ARR's favorite. I have a theory there. It is probably the hindi film music press or writers who are having access to the hindi film music rather than his Tamil one who are writing this. 'Cos if you note in all four hindi films that have him as the MD, we have Hariharan singing a song (at least). SPB doesn't sing in Rangeela and (I think) not in Bombay too. Btw, I honestly beleive that the Tamil version of Bombay sounds better. And he probably takes haria ( :) ) becos' he figures that as this guy sings GHazals too, he must be knowing Urdu pretty well and so will be able to sing the Hindi songs well too. Statistically speaking I think that Mano has been the most fortunate tho' I personally would have preferred Shahul Hameed (methinks that his voice is not that great, but ARR is able to utilise it much more). Well anyway, enough ARRing for today from my side. :) Your turn :) :) Later, Ikram.: /dev
: Must be "Super Police"!. a telugu movie (*ing Venky and Nagma)..: Bad movie.. As an aside, there is a double-entendre filled dialogue in : the movie between Ramanaidu (acting as a producer) and Nagma (acting: as an aspiring actress).. I couldn't believe some one of Ramanaidu's: stature would do something like that... Cut! Cut! It wasn't Super Police of that I am sure!! I know all the songs, and even if Bappi would have mutilated them that much, I would have been able to recognize it :). No, that Mawaali Raaj was some other movie Btw, is it possible that ARR scored the background music for the film and they used his name to get some phookat publicity? This movie was just after Roja was released in Hindi . Super Police came out later, me felt!: Anyway, "Super Police" has some pretty decent stuff in it..: Has "Babu Love Cheyyi" ( "Yaaro Sunlo" of Rangeela),: a very fast paced "Kakhi patnam SI" by Shahul Hammed and Anupama, You had me there!! (almost)!! then I remembered the title song! And the singers were Suresh peters and Anupama for the Telugu one. The Tamil dubbing came out only recently isn't it? Don't know who sang the Tamil ones.: a lovely duet "Pakka Gentleman" by SPB and SJanaki (beat similar: to the one that starts right after the pallavi in "Tanha Tanha" of Rangeela) I honestly didn't like SPB in this duet. He overdid it mefelt! On the other hand Mukkambe sounded great to me!: I thought all the songs were very badly picturized. They looked: very out of sync with the mood/beat/ambience of the songs.: Btw, the director is K.Muralimohan Rao (Bapaih types...). I think: he directed a couple of hindi movies too..: I now have to listen to the hindi version to figure out exactly: what Bappi did to these. :-) If it was Super Police, he made it totally unrecognizable :))): > sing the Hindi songs well too. Statistically speaking I think that Mano has
: I don't think any singer stands out statistically..: Let me do some calculations and I'll follow up with some numbers..: One thing Rehman stand out in is his usage of singers..: He is not afraid to use a bunch of unknown voices..: Doesn't always stick to the name singers...: He has used more than 10 singers in some movies..: It's a very refreshing to listen to all these new voices: and to get out of the monotony of listening to SPB and Chitra: day in and day out.... Talking of new singers, I just know that Sujatha is Yesudas's neice Any more info on this ? Anybody?: This Rehman trend of using a lot of singers has caught on quite a bit: in the tamil field (especially with the newer and younger MD lot)..: Sadly the SPB/Chitra stranglehold continues in the telugu field.. 2ff7e9595c
